Formally used as storage space for spirits, Harrys Harbourbazar and Erotic Art museum. Nowadays the Nochtspeicher is a new address for diverse cultural formats in the heart of St. Pauli. The storage building made of red brick and exposed wood structure has some stories to tell.

The Nochtspeicher Gbr wanted to conserve the specific charme when converting it into 5 appartements and two stories for events.
The Lawaetz foundation developed the concept and got approved planning before Neustadtarchitekten was commissioned with the execution planning.
Converting the building meant extensive measures introducing new foundations and renovating of the brickwork.
A further challenge layed within the fire protection since the building is positioned in a dense environement.
Since september 2013 the Nochtspeicher enlivens the culture in Hamburg by hosting numerous concerts, readings, exhibitions and presentations.
